Synergy - Windows+Ubuntu

1. Installation
• Windows
  Download from the official website http://synergy-foss.org/download/?list & install it
• Ubuntu
  Install QuickSynergy with Ubuntu Software Center
  
  or
  In terminal, "sudo apt-get install quicksynergy"


2. Setting
• Windows
• 執行設定精靈 => 選擇語言 => [Synergy Premium] Check "Not interested" => [伺服器端或客戶端？] Check "伺服器端(新設定)" => [Encryption] Skip & Click "Finish"
• At main page,
  "伺服器 (分享這台電腦的滑鼠和鍵盤)" and "互動地設定" should be checked
  
  
   =>Click "伺服器設定..."
  
  
   => Drag & Drop the monitor image on the right top corner at the relative position
  
  
   => Double click the new added monitor to rename it

• Ubuntu
• Choose the tag "Use"
  
  
• Enter "Server hostname/IP address" which is shown under "伺服器 (分享這台電腦的滑鼠和鍵盤)" on the main page of Windows-side synergy



• Enter "Screen name" with the same named given in the "伺服器設定..." of Windows-side synergy




3. Problem & Solution
• [ P ]
  After the settings, the cursor still could not jump to Ubuntu (the client side) with the message "NOTE: cursor is locked to screen" shown in the field "紀錄" on the main page of Windows-side synergy
  [ S ]
  Check "Scroll Lock" status on the keyboard light and disable it with the key "Scroll Lock" next to "Print Screen"


• [ P ]
  The cursor could jump to Ubuntu (the client side ) and control it but it is invisible.
  [ S ]
  $ gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.cursor active false
